ARTS 214 - Drawing II:Color & Assemblage |
This is an advanced drawing course with a focus on portraiture. During the first half of the semester students will learn the basic structure of the human head through instructor’s lectures, demonstrations, and exercises with life models. Various media, including pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, ink, and watercolor, will be introduced for the exploration of each medium’s characteristic expression. During the second half of the semester emphasis will be given to various project assignments involving self-portraits. Emphasis will be placed on individual expressions. Students will be encouraged to explore psychological and emotional elements and to portray their inner “Self” rather than superficial features. Prerequisite: 110.
