GBUS 421 - Energy Sector:Struct Mkts,Reg
This course is designed as a multi-dimensional approach to understanding the energy sector. This includes production, development, distribution, financing, and consumption relating to both Power Generation and Transportation, domestically and internationally. For Power Generation, we will explore the major feedstocks, including: wind, solar, nuclear, natural gas, and coal, as well as the fundamentals of electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution, including competitive markets. For Transportation, we will explore the production of petroleum, including refining, as well as the major substitutes to petroleum, including alternative fuels and electric vehicles. The course will also explore the basics of project finance as well as commodities pricing (trading) in international markets, and capital markets.
