HEST 362 - Environ Science Law/Policy
This course uses a conceptual approach to teach the relationship between health, science, environmental law and policy. It focuses on the core concepts embedded in U.S. environmental law, rather than individual statutes, although by the end of the course students will have a thorough understanding of major environmental laws, such as the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Air Act; Clean Water Act; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. An important issue to consider during this course is to understand that without good science, there can be no meaningful environmental law or policy.

Students will also develop some critical analytical and research skills that are transferable to all areas of environmental related health, science, law and policy management.
