MATH 340 - Applied Statistical Methods II
This course builds on and expand the concepts discussed in MATH 240, and introduces students to advanced statistical methods. Topics include Ridge regression, generalized linear modeling, including logistic regression and regression modeling for count data (e.g. Poisson, negative binomial, and zero-inflated Poisson and negative binomial regression), and smoothing methods. Students will be required to complete a data analytic project where they apply classroom knowledge to a real dataset and defend their analysis and results.
