MSFS 621 - Intrnl Project Finance & Inves
The course will focus on design, development, structuring and execution of international project finance transactions.  The semester will commence with the building blocks of structured finance including discussions of the differences between corporate and project financing and reviewing the interests of the various participants.  We will then move quickly into the discussion of risk identification, allocation and mitigation, which is the foundation of creative financial solutions.  

The second half of the course will commence with a detailed review of the concepts and use of financial analysis and financial modeling followed by a discussion of the role of contracts in mitigating risk.  The second half will also include a series of case studies as well as guest speakers that will discuss topics such as financial documentation, syndication, re-structuring troubled projects and the increasing emphasis on environmental and social issues in successful project implementation.
