PPOL 776 - National Science Policy
PPOL 776: NATIONAL SCIENCE POLICY. The course operates on the premise that the development and implementation of national science policy is fundamentally important to the future of our economy, environment, national defense etc., but little understood. The course will focus on:
1) The development of national science policy in the Administration (White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and science agencies--NSF, NIH, NASA, NOAA, DOE, DoD, Interior etc.) and Congress.
2) The role of big science in American society. 
3) How scientists fit into national science policy making.
(1.5 credits, 1st module).
