SEST 524 - Intelligence Policy & Politics
This case-based course explores the interconnectedness of US intelligence, policy, and politics from the end of World War II to the first decade of the 21st century.  The cases include the Soviet Union, the Cuban missile crisis, Viet Nam, the Iranian Revolution, 9/11, Iraq WMD, the Arab Spring, and the rise of ISIS. The episodes move from the early post-war primacy of human intelligence, to the rise of technical intelligence in the 1960s, to the Information Revolution and the growing challenges from Big Data and technology developments in the 1990s and beyond.   There are no prerequisites.
