STIA 312 - Climate Science & Policy
This course will provide students a basic introduction to programming using Python. Python is a versatile programming language that is easy for new learners yet packed with powerful tools for advanced use cases. The course is tailored for students with no prior programming knowledge. Unlike a traditional introduction to Python, which would be focused on building the foundations of strong programming, our focus in this course is to help students understand how programming could be helpful in their day-to-day work in non-engineering careers.
Students will learn how to use the terminal, write their first lines of code, learn how to access data, do basic analysis, visualize it and set up a webserver to share your work with the world.
