STIA 407 - Sr Sem:Sustainable Agriculture
This course is designed to present students with traditional and emerging agricultural patterns, along with diversification schemes, in Sustainable Agriculture. We will discuss the main trends in Sustainable Development and Ecoagriculture along with underling the main causes of soil erosion and biodiversity loss, while presenting sound alternatives to reverse these phenomenons. Students will also be able to explore and compare issues that take place through various farm practices and approaches by examining selected agricultural systems in the developing world, the rapid industrialization of agriculture, and emergent issues in agricultural biotechnology.
