STIA 478 - Technology & Armed Conflict
This course will look at the relationship between technological change and military power. The industrial revolution began a process where militaries found that technological leadership provided military advantage. Since then, there has been a steady stream of new weapons and technologies that have changed warfare and strategy. We will attempt to predict the implications of technological development for armed conflict (for both state and non-state actors) and identify alternate technological paths for attaining military superiority.
