|STRT 608 - Doing Business in the EU|
The purpose of the course is to enable students to become more knowledgeable about the European Union as a place to do business – whether as a firm based in an EU country or as a firm based outside the EU. Examples of specific topics covered in the course include: competition policy, including several high-profile cases involving US-based firms; common external trade policies, shared responsibilities of the EU and national governments for policies concerning financial services and investment; the euro zone and its relationship to the Danish, Swedish and UK currencies, and energy industry issues. The course uses case studies and lectures. Depending on availability and scheduling constraints, there are guest lecturers. Student teams present cases analyses in class, and each student prepares an in-depth study of a topic of his/her choosing.
