FINC 606 - The Fintech Revolution |
The objective of this course is to give students a well-rounded understanding of the financial technology (Fintech) landscape, by examining it from the perspective of the main players in the ecosystem:
(1) Banks and financial institutions
(2) Fintech startups
(3) Technology Service Providers (TSPs)
(4) Government
(5) Financial customers
Fintech, the combination of finance and technology, is revolutionizing the global financial services industry. Since there is a tremendous wealth of information on this topic, the course will mainly focus on the strategic, economic and governance issues associated with the Fintech ecosystem. Specifically, the course will evaluate the Fintech ecosystem by applying principles from established academic disciplines such as strategy management, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, innovation, and international development. Ultimately, the course will provide the students with a practical framework for analyzing the complex Fintech landscape.
