FINC 605 - Financial Markets & Crises
This course aims to develop a deep understanding about how real-life financial markets function and how banks, hedge funds and financial institutions profit from a changing technological, competitive and regulatory environment. The emphasis of the course is on how actual financial markets function. The course will integrate and strengthen your knowledge about financial markets in three ways: (1) interacting with lots of experienced practitioners that will be coming to class as guest speakers, (2) discussing how real financial markets operate, though the use of case studies (rather than solely by abstract theoretical models) and (3) delivering hands-on expertise and analyzing the latest developments in the market.
