GOVT 343 - The Global South
  This course will provide a conceptually and empirically challenging overview of key challenges in the relationship between the developing states of the "South" and the developed capitalist states of the "North." Themes will include economic dependency and market change, transitions in divided societies, the dynamics of hybrid regimes and the clash of identity politics in age of globalization. Readings cover the globe: East and Southeast Asia, South America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
