LASP 504 - Political Econ of Lat Amer

This seminar aims to deepen understanding and appreciation for the historical complexities and major theoretical debates and substantive issues found in the Political Economy of Development (PED) of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). It is based on the recognition that a) developmental challenges in LAC are political and social, as well as economic and b) that there is a dialectic relationship between the global economy and politics at the international, regional, national and local levels.
